I’m a web designer with over 15 years experience building and marketing websites, with the good fortune to have worked for some of the largest companies around including Philips, Vodafone, General Motors and Lego.
I have a broad range of skills covering web design, usability, performance, analytics and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). I’m also experienced with the everyday basics like setting up emails, newsletters, choosing and moving hosting companies – all the finer details that go into building and managing a website well.
These days I work for myself and share everything I’ve learned helping individuals and small businesses do better online.
How can I help your business?
1. Build you a professional looking website
As an experienced web designer, I’ll build you a professional looking website that’s focused on your business goals and designed to provide your customers with information they’re looking for.
Every new website will be…
Built on the WordPress CMS, the most popular content management system available. It’s easy to use and puts you in control of content.
Designed to look great on mobile, tablet and desktop devices alike (Responsive Design).
Optimised for speed, including image optimisation and page caching (comes with a performance report).
Configured and optimised for SEO, so your business does better in search from the get-go.
2. Improve your website – and your business – performance online
Because having a great looking website is just the beginning and no matter how small or large your business, there’s always room to improve and increase your return on investment.
Key website services include
Keyword research and content creation to improve performance in search and attract more customers.
Local SEO setup to attract customers looking for products and services in your local area – a must for brick & mortar and service area businesses such as plumbers or builders.
Newsletter setup and social media integration for customer engagement and retention.
E-Commerce setup and configuration to get you up and selling quickly.
There are countless ways to improve your website. However, what works for one company may not be relevant or suitable to another.
The best way to find out how I can help you is to get in touch so we can discuss your business and what you want from your website.
3. Provide maintenance and support
By taking care of all WordPress, theme and plugin updates for you – giving you peace of mind that your website is always running with the latest security fixes.
And, offering support with the jobs you’d like help with. Whether that’s me working “hands-on” with you, or providing help and guidance with your ideas for improving your website.
Of course, if you’d rather just leave some jobs to me so you can free up time to focus on your business, I’m happy to help.
David is such an approachable, nice guy that it is easy to feel at ease and explain what you need. I would recommend him and look forward to working with him on further projects. Kate Segal. Owner of Inside Out Health, Reigate
How I work (and how I charge)
Every project starts with a chat about your business and ideas for your website. This gives me the information I need to build you a website that works for your business and for your customers.
From there, I’ll create a number of variations on pages, content and design. I’ll walk you through the options and offer you advice to help you make the right choices, ensuring your website is tailored to your budget as well as your current and future needs.
Payments are usually broken into two equals parts. One at the beginning of the project. The other when you’ve approved the final design. Larger projects will be broken into smaller payments – something we’ll agree on before we get started.
